Definitely different taste.
The flavor is definitely different but it reminds me of steamed red bean buns. There could definitely be more filling in them though. Softness is exquisite 😅

Stale, crumbly, and made me sick. Do not buy the red bean paste flavor!
Don't buy the red bean paste flavor. The filling was fine but the actual mochi itself was hard, stale, and tasted completely off. It was crumbly rather than stretchy and it didn't soften up after I steamed them. The smell was also off. It had this weird white dust which I'm usually fine with on mochi but for these it was clumbed up and caked on and seemed rather suspicious. I don't have them to show you because after eating two of them i got really sick to my stomach and I had to throw the rest out. I've seen great reviews for other flavors, so maybe the other flavors are good, but this specific flavor of mochi was incredibly bad. But ig that's what I get for buying mochi online. Again, the actual adzuki bean paste inside the mochi tasted fine, nothing to write home about, just fine. I typically love the taste of red bean paste but this one was just a little more savory than I'm used to. You might see me say it's not sweet enough and think I'm a dumb american but part of the reason I love this stuff is because it ISN'T sickeningly sweet, but its got a certain subtle sweetness to it that makes it really good. But it still tasted like adzuki beans and the aftertaste tasted exactly like I'd had expected the actual bite to taste like so perhaps it had just gone a little bad. Overall disappointing and made me actually sick. You can buy it if you think maybe you'll get some fresh ones but I don't know if its worth the risk.

it's good but could be better
I like the strong red bean taste. it's really yummy. however - I'm not so big of a fan on how dense and firm it is... and it's a bit small compared to every other mochi I've ever had. the taste is my favorite thing about it. my least favorite is how firm and dense it is.. I wish it were softer and more mochi-like and less like a mochi trying to be a rock. anyways, not a bad product, but could definitely be better. 3 stars because I like the flavor but don't like the texture/mouth feel as much as I would have liked to and the size is not up to par.if you want good flavor, I sort of recommend this - but there's probably better mochi that is slightly bigger and softer and chewier and more gentle and pleasant to eat. yes, this gives you 8 mochi.... but 8 small mochi, not 8 normal sized mochi. I probably will not be buying these again because I prefer the softer chewier mochi that are slightly bigger and still have good taste even if they only have 6 in the pack.

Very Soft and Chewy, Not Much Filling but Still Tasty - Honeydew Tastes Like a Marshmallow
The Apexy Japanese Style Mochi Daifuku is a pleasantly soft and chewy treat that's lightly sweet and great for enjoying with a cup of tea as a little snack. The daifuku tastes fresh and has a really nice pillowy texture. The daifuku skin is fairly thin, but there isn't very much filling. The filling is smooth and has a consistency that is similar to the white smooth bean fillings - it's slightly grainy, but has a pleasant mouthfeel. I'm guessing the filling is made from the jackbean that is included in the ingredients. The honeydew flavor doesn't really come through very strongly though. If someone didn't tell me the flavor, I would've guessed it was apple or melon. It's really just a lightly sweet fruity flavor that isn't very pronounced but still tastes good. As far as ingredients go, this isn't the healthiest snack available. Unlike freshly made daifuku, this snack includes a lot of artificial ingredients and colorings. This seems to be the norm, even with Japanese daifuku (the Apexy brand is made in Taiwan), but this brand does have a few more ingredients than the Japanese brands which mostly consist of additional food colorings and preservatives. Overall, if you don't mind all the colorings and preservatives and can't get fresh daifuku, this is a pretty yummy treat to try. It's soft, chewy, and has a good enough texture that I would consider getting it again.

Perfection!!
Hello! One day I was in mood for trying new things and I came across these mochi sweets which I bought in melon and strawberry flavors. I'm not really a mochi fan; tried them before in some Whole Foods version and I was not impressed. But I thought I should be fair and try them in their Japanese version as well before I vote against them full heart. Imagine my astonishment when I tried these sweets and first thought that came to mind was PERFECTION!!!!. Light sweet, light flavor, fluffy like a cloud melting in your mouth. Intriguing interior that makes you want to try just one more. Let me be perfectly clear: these sweets are not designed to "hit the spot". They are designed to show you the next level of happy food!!And did I mention that eating them will not make you feel down or heavy or guilty or whatever bad feeling you might have experienced with other sweets? Yes, no such thing with these delights. Which is probably why all my neurons sang in a coir: ta-ta!!! Perfection!!! :-) Enjoy! :-)

Sweet beans!
Best Red Bean Mochi that I've tried from Amazon. The red bean paste was actually sweet and didn't just taste like beans alone. Really good. If I'm ever craving red bean mochi, these will be my go to.

Stale and Gross
I love Daifuku and was excited to try a new brand and flavor, and this is absolutely terrible. The smell was a little off putting, but i thought it may have been the packaging. It wasn’t. The texture and look of them was really bumpy and hard, like they were stale. The paste on the inside is extremely dry. The taste was, of course, not good. Not sure if I received an old item, despite the expiration date being safe. Please save your money and do NOT buy from this brand. If you’re interested in finding better Daifuku, my current favorite is Fusion Select and only costs about a dollar more, but I’ve never had any problems with them!

Weird texture unlike mochi
Really weird texture- not gooey outside the way mochi usually is… it felt more like a gummy candy. It didn’t TASTE bad, just the wrong texture.
