Almost 2 years of abuse and it's still going strong
When I could no longer see the display on my beloved "Casio Women's LA11WB-1 Daily Alarm Digital Watch", I had to hunt for a replacement with larger numbers. This watch is not nearly as intuitive, comfortable, or small as my previous favorite, but after 23 years of wearing the aforementioned model, you can expect me to be biased. This watch does everything my other watch did except I'm too impatient to figure out how. At least making the display light up is easy by touching the fat button under the time on the face of the watch. After unsuccessfully trying to kill my last Casio watch by showering and washing dishes in it daily, I got used to never taking my watch off. I've been wearing this Timex for two years now while swimming, gardening, showering, doing dishes, and anything else wet and dirty that came up, and it's still in fine form. The only thing that's happened is that the glue that held on the loop that the watchband tucked into finally let go. I got a thick piece of necklace thread from the hobby store and stitched another loop through the material band, which did the trick. It's bigger than my last one, the band is fabric (icky when wet), and the buckle is metal, which scrapes up my laptop if I don't push the watch up my arm. But all in all it's a great watch. If you want a small, slender, functional, utilitarian watch, and still have good eyes and ears, check out the Casio above here on Amazon. My review is still up and it's still under tw*lve bucks last time I looked.Update 10/27/2013: I'm still wearing this Expedition 24/7. When the little loop I sewed onto the band broke, I just went to a local watch store and bought a new and very inexpensive band in a pretty color. It's a common size band, no problem replacing it. They switched it out for me free in 5 minutes.

Practically Perfect
This is a great little watch. It’s legible, light on the wrist, and understated in design. It features everything I look for in a digital watch: water resistance to at least 100M, three customizable alarms that are loud enough to be practical, countdown timer, dual time zones, stopwatch, 12 and 24-hour modes, Indiglo, and non-proprietary lugs. It is 33mm in diameter and has a thin profile; both things I see as a plusses. As a pro tip -- this watch pairs well with the Barton Watch Bands Elite Silicone strap designed for the 16mm lug width common to the much lauded, but less functional, Casio G-Shock family of watches.

Good Watch; Bad Strap
The watch is like many other I've worn, Timex included, and has all the features I want in a standard watch. I like the colors which are very similar to my last Timex which I've had to abandon due to failure of the wrist band after many years of daily use and the dearth of stores which replace straps. The watch itself is reliable and works well, but I do not like the velcro strap. I have very small wrists and searched a lot before deciding on this watch with an adjustable strap unhindered by the placement of buckle and holes. However, the strap is still too big to fit me well and it is tedious to align both sides of the velcro. Also, the velcro will catch my sleeves or other parts of my clothing every now and then and is avoidable only through meticulous placment of the two sides of velcro. I myself can't replace a strap with a better one because I don't know how, but if you can and have large enough wrists, then this may be the watch for you. If the manufacture or anyone else knows where one can purchase a small wrist band where the sellers will remove the one that I now have with a new, better fitting one, I wish there were a way that you could tell me. I do wish the watch were flatter because my sleeves are hard to move back and forth over it and it's also in the way of typing on my computer as well as tucking sheets in between mattress and headboard. (I can't rate the light because I haven't yet looked for the switch, and its water resistance I can't comment upon because I have not and will not subject the watch to water.)
