The drum is pretty and the finish is smooth. I was in error thinking that, with 13 tongues, it would cover an entire octave of notes, including flats and sharps. It doesn't. It has two octaves of A, B, C, D, E, and G. It was one octave of F. My hope was to play base notes in a music group with my friends. This is much more limiting than I expected. The notes are "good enough" for casual music, but they are not spot on. There is no way I'm going to saw on this thing to try to get them exact. It's relaxing and fun. I don't regret buying it for my purpose, but I learned a lot about them after getting it. I'm sure what I wanted would cost significantly more.

Its so easy to make up a beat on this drum I highly reccomend it for beginners or even kids. You can bang on it all day and it sounds like a wind chime. The 2 smaller flat notes are kind of off but for $95 I got more than I expected definitely a great way to see if you enjoy the drum ill definitely upgrade later. Beautiful sound

If you are looking for a high quality precision drum then this one isn’t for you. This is fine as an introduction to the instrument and just to mess around with. The drum was delivered timely. However, it came with a song book for a six tongue and not a twelve and a couple of the smaller tongues don’t sound right or really make much sound at all. The finger mallets don’t work very well and you really have to hit your fingers hard to get any volume. That hurts after awhile. The drum itself is attractive and solidly built and having the padded case with strap is great.I’m a little disappointed but for what I paid for it and how it is going to be used it’s not worth the hassle of shipping it back for a refund.

I just got the tank drum and I love it. I am a beginer and this is a beautiful but starter instrument. If you have never played... this is perfect. Having the extra notes is crucial to play songs beyond the C scale. The book is useless as it is for the smaller ones. but I have started a Pinterest search site and some starting piano books have helped. Love the fact it comes with the bag, finger pieces and rubber sticks...

Easy Easy Easy to learn and to play. A music booklet with numbered songs came as well as the Lil drum sticks, sticker numbers and finger rings. The music book was for an 8 note drum, but I googled a 13 note drum and viewed a You tube video on how to place the sticker numbers and his to play. It's easy enough for any child that knows their numbers. The sound quality is very soothing and relaxing.

This is a wonderful instrument for my 10month old baby and for me. I'm not sure if it's in tune. One of the mallets arrived broken. The music book is for the version with fewer notes, not the 13 note one that we ordered. The turqoise green color is very pretty.

It has a soothing sound so even when my grandchildren played with it, it wasn’t hard to listen. Wish it had more songs to play, but a great introduction to music for kids.
