Topdon Auto Mate OBD2 Scanner,WIFI OBD2 Reader to Turn-off MIL, Read/ClearDTCs, Live Data, Freeze Frame Data, Diagnostic APP for iOS/Android Devices

I purchased this device as one that I could use to monitor my engine and other things on the car ideally via either Bluetooth or wifi. It was, in fact, the wifi connection option that attracted me to it.However, there were a few issues in setup. Firstly the app costs £4.99 and isn't free with no free option. This as far as I can remember is not indicated when you purchase. It ended up costing me nothing thanks to Google Rewards but either way I was not impressed by this.Then I tried to connect to the device by bluetooth and no matter what I did, no connection. Using the app would not work and connecting directly just would not work.When I tried via WiFi, it would not connect via the app but I noticed in the instructions that we had to connect directly to it via wifi on our phone or tablet.This worked but connection I found was at least at first unreliable, before finally setting and seeming to be quite accurate. Rev range reports were a little behind the dashboard display but accurate once they caught up. A few things indicated the device appeared to be accurate though a little slow in reporting.I'm unsure how it compares to a device I previously purchased but once connected it appeared to work quite well and the app interface though slightly confusing also worked well. One thing I haven't tried is using it with other OBD2 software. This would prove whether the device is really useful or not for me.I'm happy to recommend though not convinced I can warrant a 5 star score as it isn't as easy to connect to as I'd like and the cost of the app on top of purchasing the device. If these were resolved then 5 star would be justified.

Works perfectly with my free iOS app rather than paying for the recommended app to clear faults. Please note that, as with other scanners, the unit appears to remain on whilst the ignition is off and will eventually drain your battery if plugged in for a prolonged period of time.

Not only doesn't work with free apps, demanding to buy Topdon official app, but unable to connect even with official. Returned.

Unable ro comment on its peeformance. I scanned the QR Code for the App and it said £4.99 which I wasn't prepared tp pay, especially as the device is much cheaper elsewhere.

Very easy to connect with my iPhone, and it is compatible as well with other free software (mobile apps). I do recommend this product.

Absolutely useless. Good luck getting it to work.
